Y-Fitness Instructor
Responsibilities:

- Conduct Y-Fitness classes on the coordinated day and time
- Maintain a friendly, clean, and professional appearance and demeanor
- Assist BYU Student Wellness in promoting their vision which is to help “every student to pursue their best self and enjoy a healthy student experience.”
- Attend Y-Fitness orientation at the beginning of the fall and winter semester
- Complete a self-evaluation form and discuss it with the supervisor at the end of every semester
- Current certification in area of specialty
- Experience in the fitness field
- Student at Brigham Young University
- Commitment to teaching Y-Fitness classes at the coordinated day and time
Most Common Hiring Periods: Prior to the beginning of fall and winter semesters, as needed
Starting Pay: $20 per hour
Hours: Hours will vary depending on the current Y-Fitness schedule, but each instructor will be in charge of at least 1 Y-Fitness class.

Wellness Coach Intern

- Coach students on the subjects of fitness, nutrition, stress management, intuitive eating, and healthy relationships.
- Develop and assist BYU Student Wellness in implementing programs and activities to promote health and wellness. I.E.- workshops, training, and weekly booths in the WILK.
- Maintain a friendly, clean, and professional appearance and demeanor.
- Attendance at occasional training and in-service meetings.
Applicant Qualifications:
- Seeking students specializing in health-related fields or other majors focused on wellness.
- Juniors & Seniors (preferred) Available for 3 hours- 2 or 3 days a week to assist in coaching students, 1 hour for weekly meetings on Tuesdays at noon or Mondays at 11 am (time is flexible depending on when the other coaches can meet), and 2 hours for booths from 11 am-1 pm Wednesday’s or Thursday’s with some flexibility to do different times various weeks.
- Must be able to teach 2 workshops per semester. The workshops are held in the evenings for 45 minutes- to 1 hour.
- Related class or work experience in exercise programming, training, health, and wellness.
- Desire to contribute to the mission of Student Wellness on campus.
- Willing to complete their 4-credit hour internship within 2 semesters (200 credit hours). 10 hours a week.
- Demonstrated ability to work with individuals and groups in a helpful and friendly manner.
